iCloud Music Library is a convenient feature that keeps your music in sync across multiple devices. This service is a bonus for Apple Music subscribers and can help you enjoy seamless music experiences on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
While this feature can be helpful, it also has some drawbacks that make it inconvenient for some people. If you’re not happy with iCloud Music Library, here’s how to turn it off on your iPhone or Mac.
1. Go to Settings
The iCloud Music Library is an extra bonus that syncs your Apple Music playlists and albums across all of your devices. It’s a great feature for many people, but it can also be a bit of a pain to deal with. It can mess up your metadata and album art, make it difficult to find songs and albums, and even cause problems on devices like Macs and iPhones.
The best way to avoid any potential issues is to turn off iCloud Music Library on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. To do this, follow these instructions:
Go to Settings
Once you’ve installed the latest iOS version, you should see the Settings icon on your Home Screen. You can tap and hold it to bring up a menu with shortcuts to all of the most important settings.
Scroll down to the Music section and tap iCloud Music Library to toggle it off. This will disable the feature on all of your devices, but you can re-enable it later if you decide you’d like it back.
If you want to make sure that you don’t lose any of your music files when you turn off iCloud Music Library, you should use a third-party app to backup your data. This is particularly important if you’re planning to switch from Apple Music to another service in the future.
CopyTrans is an easy-to-use, cross-platform app that allows you to transfer music, videos, playlists, ringtones, and audiobooks from your iPhone or iPod to your PC in just a few clicks. It also supports backups of the contents of your iTunes Library, including iCloud Music Library-enabled files.
You can also download your iPhone or iPod music library to your computer with the help of a free program called EaseUS MobiMover. You can choose the type of content you want to back up, and click “Transfer” to begin transferring it. Keep in mind that this will only work if you have an active iTunes Match or Apple Music subscription.
2. Scroll down to Music
If you don’t want your music library to be synced with other Apple devices, you can turn off iCloud Music Library. This will free up space on your device and keep it more organized. It also prevents the songs you’ve downloaded from your iTunes account from being synced to other devices.
You can disable iCloud Music Library on an iPhone, Mac, or PC. It’s simple to do and only takes a few seconds. To do this, open the Settings app on your device and scroll down to Music.
Look for the toggle next to Sync Library and make sure it’s off. You’ll know it’s off if the button is gray instead of green.
Once you’ve done this, close the Settings app and restart your device. This should clear up any issues with iCloud Music Library.
Alternatively, you can also disable iCloud Music Library on Mac and PC by editing the preferences of the Music app. This can be done on a macOS Catalina or later OS, or on iTunes on older systems.
If you do not want to use iCloud Music Library, you can easily download your iTunes playlists and convert them to other audio formats like MP3 or AAC on your computer. This way, you can listen to your music offline without the hassle of syncing.
However, this may not work if you have any problems with the network connection on your device. So, you’ll need to be sure that your phone and other Apple devices have a stable Internet connection before enabling this feature.
If you want to turn off iCloud Music Library on your iPhone, you can do so by opening the Settings app and scrolling down to Music. You’ll find the iCloud Music Library option under this section, and you can toggle it off by tapping on it.
3. Tap iCloud Music Library
Apple’s iCloud Music Library is a service that stores your songs, albums, and playlists across your devices. It’s available for both Apple Music and iTunes Match users, and can be a great way to keep your music library in sync across multiple iOS devices.
But it’s not without its issues, including messed-up metadata, missing album art, and even getting live tracks wrong. It’s also prone to sucking up mobile data.
That said, it can also be handy to have your music backed up so you don’t have to worry about losing songs or albums. To do that, you can use a third-party application like CopyTrans to transfer music files between iPhone and PC.
The program can move any song, album, or playlist between iOS devices with just a few clicks. It works on both Windows and Mac, so you can get your music off of your iPhone and onto your computer in just a few minutes.
iCloud Music Library can be turned on and off at any time via your iOS device’s Settings menu, or through the Apple Music and iTunes apps on a Mac or PC. When it’s on, your local iPhone songs are automatically synced to the Apple Music Catalog. You can then listen to them on any other Apple device signed in with the same account as the one you’ve chosen to back up your music.
To turn off iCloud Music Library, just open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and tap Music. Then, toggle off the switch next to Sync Library.
However, this may remove any downloaded music from iCloud, so you should make sure to download the music you want to keep before disabling iCloud Music Library. You can always enable it again in the future after you’ve downloaded the music you want to keep.
4. Tap Turn Off
iCloud Music Library is Apple’s cloud-based storage service for syncing and downloading music between different iOS and Mac devices. It’s a great feature for storing songs and playlists, especially for those who have an Apple Music subscription.
To enable iCloud Music Library, simply open the Settings app on your device and scroll down to Music. Then tap the toggle next to Sync Library to turn it on.
When iCloud Music Library is turned on, all the music you store in iCloud will be automatically downloaded to your iPhone or iPad. This includes any songs you have downloaded from Apple Music as well as any songs you’ve purchased from the iTunes Store in the past.
However, if you’re not happy with the syncing capabilities of iCloud Music Library, you can disable it without having to delete any of your songs. The best part is that it’s extremely easy to do!
On an iPhone, simply open the Settings app and tap Music. Then, tap the toggle next to Sync Library to disable it.
In the case of a Mac or PC, you can also manually turn off iCloud Music Library using the Music app on those devices. To do this, open the Music app and point your mouse cursor at the top bar.
After that, click Preferences and select the General tab. The first option should read Sync Library, followed by your iCloud email address. Untick the box to disable this feature.
While disabling iCloud Music Library can save you from some syncing issues, it won’t let you listen to Apple Music offline or sync songs on other devices. If you want to keep these features, consider using a tool like ViWizard Audio Converter to convert your songs and albums.
Before turning off iCloud Music Library, make sure that you have a backup of your songs and playlists. Otherwise, you’ll lose access to them when you disable iCloud Music Library.
