League of Legends Lecture is a class designed to explore and analyze the popular video game League of Legends through various lenses, including gameplay, eSports, psychology, and video game design. Students will spend class time discussing and analyzing professional-level League of Legends games, applying what they learn outside of class to improve their own gameplay through weekly homework assignments.

In the months between the launch of Onslaught—which eventually became League of Legends—and the open beta that would finally bring it to a wider audience, Merrill and Beck were facing some big challenges. Their ideals clashed: Jew wanted to create a DOTA clone very quickly, and Beck was pushing for a game with more of an emphasis on player experience.

The end result of that conflict was that three members of the core team left Riot in early 2008, and by the spring, the game had a long way to go before it could even get out to its first players.

Since then, the game has grown into a global phenomenon—the most popular video game with more than 100 million active monthly users and the biggest eSports scene around the world. But League of Legends is also one of the most complex games to master, and figuring out the secrets to winning can be daunting for new players. In this course, former LCS coach NicoThePico will help you hone your skills by sharing tips and tricks on the game’s mechanics, roles, and meta. 롤대리
