How to Turn Off Amber Alerts on iPhone

If you’ve found yourself overwhelmed by the sound of amber alerts on your iphone, you can easily disable them. This way, they won’t keep you up at night or spook you while you’re driving.

Amber alerts are emergency notifications that help authorities get out word about child abductions or other situations where a person is missing. They bypass your device’s “Do Not Disturb” settings and use a unique emergency tone that utilizes the maximum volume of your phone.

1. Go to Settings

You may be surprised to learn that your iPhone has the ability to silence Amber Alerts when you want to. While they’re useful and potentially lifesaving, sometimes you just don’t need to be alerted about everything that goes on in your area.

To disable AMBER Alerts on an iPhone, first navigate to the Settings app. You can do this by swiping down from the Home Screen or tapping on the Search field at the bottom of the screen, then searching for “settings.”

At the top of the app, you’ll see a list of all the apps on your iPhone. Scroll down to the bottom of this list and tap on Notifications.

Under this section, you’ll find a whole host of government-related emergency alerts that you can toggle off and on. These include AMBER Alerts, emergency alerts, presidential alerts, public safety alerts, and more.

AMBER Alerts, which stands for America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response, are a nationwide system designed to help locate missing children. These are usually broadcast when a child goes missing in your neighborhood or surrounding areas.

The system can also be used to spread information about suspected kidnappers in the same area. However, these alerts aren’t always accurate or helpful.

Emergency alerts can be a real lifesaver in the event of an earthquake or other disaster that threatens your safety. You can turn these off if you’re not interested in hearing them, but we strongly recommend keeping them on.

These alerts can be especially helpful if you have kids or are in the military and don’t have access to other alert systems. In addition to letting you know when someone is missing or has been kidnapped, they can also tell you the exact location of the person.

While these emergency notifications can be distracting or irritating, they’re an essential part of your mobile device’s ability to protect you and the people around you. You’ll be happy to know that it’s a simple process to turn off AMBER Alerts on an iPhone or Android phone.

While you can disable AMBER Alerts and other emergency notifications from your iPhone, you won’t be able to turn off all of them. This is a default setting on most smartphones, but you can opt to disable them temporarily or permanently if you’d like to.

2. Scroll down to Notifications

When a child is abducted or goes missing, Amber Alerts are issued by government agencies. These emergency alerts are a vital resource to find and rescue kids. They include important information about the kidnapper, the vehicle they’re traveling in, and other details that help search teams reunite the kid with their family.

However, these warnings can be very grating and disturbing to some people, especially if they’re trying to sleep or focus. For those who want to completely disable the alerts, it’s easy to do.

The first step is to scroll down to Notifications on your iPhone. This is where all your notifications are displayed, whether they’re messages, phone calls, or anything else you can think of.

Here you can toggle on or off a number of different alerts. From extreme threats to test alerts, you can turn them on or off and decide which ones you really want to receive.

You can also choose the type of alerts that appear when you open an app, including notifications, banners, and badges. If you opt for a banner, the alert will be displayed on the top of your screen.

3. Tap on Amber Alerts

If you don’t like receiving alerts on your iPhone, it’s easy to turn them off. You can do so from the Settings app on your device.

Amber Alerts are a type of emergency notification that is used by law enforcement agencies to locate missing children. These alerts are usually broadcast on radio, television and wireless devices such as phones.

You can disable AMBER alerts by turning off the toggle that allows them to be displayed on your iPhone. To do this, navigate to the Notifications section in your Settings app and tap on Government Alerts.

In this section, you can also toggle off other types of alerts such as Emergency and Public Safety alerts. The Emergency alerts are for emergencies in your area, while the Public Safety alerts are specific to weather conditions.

If you don’t like the sound of these alerts, you can choose to silence them by switching off the Always Play Sound option. That way, they won’t ring when you’re sleeping or in silent mode.

However, if you do want to be notified when an alert is issued, you can enable them. You can do this by scrolling down to the Notifications section of your Settings app and tapping on Emergency Alerts.

Once you’ve reached the page that shows up, slide the toggle next to Emergency Alerts to the right to turn them off or to the left to enable them. You can also select the other options in this section, such as Public Safety alerts and Presidential Alerts to get more information about them.

4. Tap on Turn Off

When it comes to keeping your phone safe, Apple offers a variety of safety features on their devices. One of them is Emergency SOS, which has been proven to save lives on iPhones and Apple Watches.

In addition to Emergency SOS, iPhones also allow you to receive AMBER alerts. These are national public safety alerts that are intended to help locate missing children.

AMBER alerts are meant to be loud and shocking, so they can get your attention quickly and easily. However, if you’re not a fan of the screeching noise they make, you can easily turn them off.

To do so, just tap on the corresponding button in Settings. Then, scroll down to Notifications and find the Emergency Alerts section.

Then, toggle off AMBER alerts and other Emergency Alerts.

Note: You can also toggle off these alerts in a similar way on Samsung phones. Just go to Settings > Wireless Emergency Alerts.
